FACINE 28 ANNOUNCES WINNERS IN SHORT FILMS COMPETITION

November 14, San Francisco, CA - The Filipino Arts and Cinema International or FACINE has announced winners of the Short Film Competition of FACINE 28, the 28th annual filipino international cine festival. Zig Dulay's BLACK RAINBOW won the Best Film Gold, Dulay also got the Direction Gold honors. The short film which tells of a young Aeta boy who dreams to be a lawyer to be able to fight for his community's ancestral land now under threat of a mining company's takeover, also won in each category for which it is nominated.

Other films which figured prominently in the selected winners include Arden Rod Condez's DANDANSOY, Kurt Soberano's SA BALAY NI PAPANG [in my father's house], Arjanmar Rebeta's MY FATHER IS AN ASTRO-NOT, Christopher Gozum's MINA'S FAMILY HISTORY and Donnie Sacueza's MGA BAYANING AYTA [the Aeta heroes].
