FACINE 28 ANNOUNCES WINNERS FOR FEATURE FILMS;
LOCKDOWN, MIDNIGHT IN A PERFECT WORLD,
JOEL LAMANGAN WIN GOLD;
PAOLO GUMABAO, JERALD NAPOLES, BELA PADILLA LEAD PERFORMER HONORS
November 8, 2021, San Francisco, CA - Veteran Filipino director, Joel Lamangan won big at the now-ongoing FACINE 28, the 28th annual filipino international cine festival and competition, for Best Directing Gold for his film, LOCKDOWN, which was also adjudged Best Film Gold; his other film in the festival, ISA PANG BAHAGHARI [another rainbow] was awarded the Best Film Silver.
Dodo Dayao's neo noir futuristic horror, his second feature film, MIDNIGHT IN A PERFECT WORLD, shares Best Film Gold honors.
Paolo Gumabao, the lead star of LOCKDOWN, playing as a returning OFW, forced to work as cybersex male worker, and Jerald Napoles, the ill-fated bagman in Irene Emma Villamor's IKAW AT AKO AT ANG ENDING [you and me and the ending] win Best Lead Actor Gold.
Bela Padilla, the recovering alcoholic movie star, in Irene Emma Villamor's ON VODKA, BEERS AND REGRETS, was adjudged Best Lead Actress Gold. Padilla was FACINE 25 Best Female Lead Actor for Villamor's MEET ME IN ST GALLEN in 2018.
