FACINE 29 ANNOUNCES SHORT FILM WINNERS -
HILIGAYNON FILMS DOMINATE HONOREES;
SETH ANDREW BLANCA'S KUNG SA DIIN ANG SUBA TARABUAN, KEVIN PIAMONTE'S SOLO WIN GOLD
San Francisco, November 15, 2022 - The Filipino Arts & Cinema International or FACINE has announced this year's winners in the short films division, on its 29th year. The festival of short films which ran online on FACINE's youtube channel on November 6-13 was in concert with the full-length films competition on FACINE filmbot site.
As in the previous two years, FACINE 29 has chosen winners adopting the tiered selection process, in the different categories. A panel of three jury members were tasked to view all the films through links provided by the filmmakers/producers. The panel includes fictionist Marianne Villanueva, filmmaker/entrepreneur Penny Baldado and filmmaker/curator Charles Gray.
Given their strong presence at the festival this year, Hiligaynon films dominated the honorees, with two of the films, Seth Andrew Blanca's KUNG SA DIIN ANG SUBA TARABUAN [down the river we meet] and Kevin Piamonte's SOLO winning Gold; their lead actors won in their respective categories.
